What Went Right
  • Enterprise Technology revenue surged to $163.8M, up 43.8% YoY, driven by UniFi expansion.
  • North America revenue jumped to $124.5M, a 48.0% increase YoY.
  • Non-GAAP diluted EPS grew 34.7% YoY to $1.01, supported by share repurchases.
What to Watch
  • Gross margin declined to 44.7% from 45.1% YoY due to higher expedited shipping costs.
  • Proposed U.S. tariffs on Chinese imports could lower gross margins to ~40% in fiscal 2019 if implemented and not mitigated.
  • Continued supply chain inefficiencies and chronic stockouts on key items remain a constraint.
Management Guidance
  • No explicit revenue or EPS guidance provided for Q1 FY19.
  • Long-term gross margin projection remains 45%-50%, but tariffs could reduce margins to ~40%.
  • Company initiated a quarterly cash dividend of $0.25 per share for fiscal 2019, subject to Board approval.
Investor Lens
The thesis is modestly stronger after the call: strong revenue growth, especially in enterprise and North America, and accelerating non-GAAP EPS growth support the investment case. However, the potential tariff impact on gross margins and ongoing supply chain inefficiencies introduce near-term uncertainty. Management's focus on improving logistics and new product introductions (e.g., UniFi Video) provide a path to margin recovery, but the tariff risk is a significant headwind that investors will monitor closely.

📈 STRONG Solid quarter with 18% revenue growth; tariff risk clouds outlook.
Revenue
Q4 revenue reached $269.8M, up 18.0% YoY. Enterprise Technology contributed $163.8M (up 43.8% YoY), while Service Provider Technology fell to $105.9M (down 7.6% YoY). North America led with $124.5M, up 48.0% YoY.
Profitability

Margins
GAAP gross margin was 44.7%, down from 45.1% a year ago, driven by higher-than-normal expedited shipping costs. Operating margin improved to 32.7% versus 31.4% in Q4 FY17, aided by disciplined expense control.
Balance Sheet
Not discussed beyond share repurchases: the company repurchased 586,924 shares at an average price of $70.11 during the quarter, leaving $306.2M in remaining buyback authorization. A new quarterly dividend of $0.25 per share was announced.
Key Risks
Management flagged the risk of U.S. tariffs on Chinese imports, which could reduce gross margins to ~40% in FY2019. Also noted ongoing supply chain inefficiencies and stockouts as near-term headwinds.
Outlook
No specific revenue or EPS guidance was provided. The company expects long-term gross margins of 45%-50% if tariff risks are mitigated, but current operational improvements and new product launches (e.g., UniFi Video) are intended to support growth.

Projections are built from each company's audited annual financials (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) over the last 5 fiscal years. Forward assumptions — revenue growth %, EBITDA margin, D&A (USD millions), interest expense, tax rate, and capex — are AI-generated using historical context and refreshed twice a year: after the December results season and after the September/Q4 results season.

Expected 5-year CAGR = (DCF Fair Value / Current Price)1/5 − 1. Assumes fair value is reached in exactly 5 years — a mechanical estimate only.
