1. What Is the Catalyst Timeline?
Finmagine already tracks a company's order wins, insider trades, pledge changes, results, corporate actions, announcements, and concalls — but historically each lived in its own sub-tab. The Catalyst Timeline merges all of it into one chronological, colour-coded feed, so you can see everything material that has happened to a company in the order it actually happened, rather than checking 10 places one by one.
It's a pure read: nothing here is computed fresh on the page. The tab reads directly from Finmagine's Company Events Layer — a nightly-synced cache that already merges and deduplicates every event source per company, per market.
Premium feature, both markets: The Catalyst Timeline sits under the More ▾ dropdown on any company page, next to Documents and Forensic Report — available on both india (finmagine.com/stock/) and US (finmagine.com/us/stock/) company pages, Premium subscribers only.
2. The 7 Event Families & 12 Event Types
Every event belongs to exactly one family, which sets its default row colour. Within each family, the specific event type sets the icon and label.

Only relevant families show up as filter chips: if a company has no Ownership events on record, no "Ownership" chip appears — the filter row only lists families that actually have at least one event for this specific company.
3. Reading a Timeline Row
Each row follows the same layout: date, icon, headline, optional source/view links, and a family label underneath, all left-bordered in the family's colour.

4. Governance Heatmap — Pledge Change Coloring
Most rows are coloured by their family. Pledge Change events are the one exception: instead of the neutral Governance-family amber, they're recoloured by direction:

India only: This governance heatmap coloring only applies to India company pages. The US market has no equivalent promoter share-pledging disclosure requirement, so US Catalyst Timelines never show a Pledge Change event or the red/green override — the colouring logic simply has nothing to act on there.

Activity → Governance sub-tab — the Catalyst Timeline just brings it into the same merged view as everything else.
5. A Research Workflow Using the Catalyst Timeline

Step 1
Open the tab and scan the full feed first. Before filtering to anything, look at the unfiltered 150-event feed — the mix and pacing of families itself is informative (a company with frequent Orders + calm Governance reads very differently from one with sparse Orders and repeated red Pledge Change rows).

Step 2
Filter to Governance if you're doing a risk check. One click isolates SAST triggers and pledge changes — scan for any red rows, and note how recently they happened relative to today.

Step 3
Filter to Orders if you're validating a growth thesis. See the cadence and size of order wins over time — sparse or shrinking order flow can be an early warning that a growth narrative is running out of fuel.

Step 4
Cross-check Earnings events against the other families around the same date. A weak result immediately preceded by a pledge increase or a cluster of insider sells is a materially different situation than a weak result in isolation.
