📊 MIXED UGI Q2 2026: Segments EBIT $688M, selling electric unit for $470M, data center partner Prime
Revenue & Profitability
Q2 2026 reported segments EBIT of $688 million versus $692 million prior year. Adjusted diluted EPS was $2.09 compared to $2.21. Year-to-date segments EBIT up $17 million. Full-year adjusted EPS guidance revised to $2.75-$2.90. Consolidated net leverage at 3.7x, lowest in five years; AmeriGas net leverage 4.7x. UGI International generated over $800 million free cash flow in three years.
Outlook
Management sees robust customer demand for natural gas and strong pipeline of data center opportunities. The Midstream & Marketing segment faces delays in planned growth investments and lower Appalachian production, contributing to the guidance revision. The company does not anticipate any margin or supply impact from Middle East conflict due to contract structure and hedging. Warmer weather affected global LPG volumes.
Growth Drivers
Key growth drivers include the data center partnership with Prime Data Centers (expected demand >100,000 Dth/day within 3-5 years), Auburn Pipeline expansion (oversubscribed open season), and adding over 6,000 new heating customers at utilities. AmeriGas' cylinder sales via Amazon and operational improvements are expected to support future earnings. The global LPG capital rebalancing reduces borrowing cost and frees investment capacity for natural gas.
Balance Sheet & CapEx
Year-to-date, utilities deployed approximately $280 million in capital for pipeline safety and modernization. Auburn Pipeline expansion requires $25-$30 million investment. The Prime Data Centers partnership involves net capital input but initial land sale provides capital return. The global LPG rebalancing includes a $300 million special dividend from International to reduce AmeriGas debt.
Margins
UGI International has effective margin management, offsetting weather impacts. Higher gas base rates at utilities increased total margin by $23 million in Q2. At AmeriGas, higher average LPG unit margins and fee income offset lower retail gallons. The company's Weather Normalization Adjustment mechanism mitigated $19 million of weather impact. Operating expenses increased due to personnel, uncollectible accounts, and new assets.
Key Risks
Risks include warmer weather impacting LPG volumes (West was 12% warmer year-over-year), customer attrition at AmeriGas, delays in midstream growth investments, and slower translation of operational improvements into earnings. Geopolitical situation in the Middle East is monitored but not expected to affect margins or supply. The company manages risk through hedging and contract structures.
