📊 MIXED Standex Q3 2026 sales up 8.1% to $224.6M, organic 6.5%.
Revenue & Profitability
Revenue grew 8.1% year-on-year to $224.6 million, with organic growth of 6.5%. Adjusted operating margin was 19.7%, up 30 basis points. Adjusted EPS increased 13.5% to $2.21. Free cash flow was $6.3 million. Net leverage stood at 1.9x after paying down $62 million of debt.
Outlook
Management sees healthy demand reflected in a company-wide book-to-bill of 1.05 and Electronics book-to-bill of 1.14. Fast-growth markets and new products are driving momentum. Headwinds include general market weakness in North America and Europe, NIH cuts affecting Scientific, and slow general industry in North America and Europe. Asia general industry appears to have picked up.
Growth Drivers
Key growth levers are Electronics (organic growth 6.8%), Aerospace & Defense (organic 20.8%), new product sales (up ~40% to $18.7 million), and sales into fast-growth markets ($69 million, over 30% of total). Grid and defense are particularly strong, with grid sales up about 20% year-on-year. General industry in Asia is improving, supporting switch sales.
Balance Sheet & CapEx
Capital expenditure guidance for fiscal 2026 is $27 million to $30 million. Growth investments include capacity expansion in grid (Croatia site now operational, Mexico and Texas sites), and potential Aerospace & Defense capacity expansion if missile program orders materialize. Croatia site expected to ramp after ISO certifications in June.
Margins
Adjusted operating margin was 19.7%, up 30 bps year-on-year. Electronics margin was 29.3%, down 50 bps due to growth investments. Aerospace & Defense margin was 18%, down 60 bps due to project mix. Engraving & Hydraulics margin improved 210 bps to 14.3% from restructuring benefits. For Q4, management expects slightly lower consolidated margin as growth investments, higher medical costs, and higher variable compensation offset organic growth and productivity gains.
Key Risks
Risks flagged include general industrial weakness in North America and Europe, NIH funding cuts impacting Scientific, execution issues in the Edge business, and dependence on government procurement processes for missile program orders. Growth investments could pressure near-term margins. Macroeconomic or geopolitical challenges could affect demand.

Financial Model
Projections are built from each company's audited annual financials (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) over the last 5 fiscal years. Forward assumptions — revenue growth %, EBITDA margin, D&A (USD millions), interest expense, tax rate, and capex — are AI-generated using historical context and refreshed twice a year: after the December results season and after the September/Q4 results season.

DCF Valuation
Fair Value = Σ(FCFt / (1+WACC)t) + Terminal Value. Terminal Value uses the Gordon Growth Model: FCF5 × (1+g) / (WACC−g). Default WACC: 10% (US risk-free ~4.5%, equity risk premium ~5.5%). Default terminal growth: 3% (long-run US nominal GDP proxy).

CAGR Tracker
Expected 5-year CAGR = (DCF Fair Value / Current Price)1/5 − 1. Assumes fair value is reached in exactly 5 years — a mechanical estimate only.
