What Went Right
  • Data center revenue was a record $137.6M, up ~40% sequentially
  • Record book-to-bill of 1.6 to 1; bookings were the highest quarterly ever
  • Adjusted gross margin expanded 120bps q/q to 59.7%
What to Watch
  • CW laser is not yet in production; potential start is late calendar 2027 and still dependent on reliability/performance qualification
  • Input cost inflation is rising across labor, electricity, utilities and raw materials
  • China transceiver/module restrictions could cause customer mix shifts, though management says it is business as usual
Management Guidance
  • Q4 FY2026 revenue guidance of $415-425 million
  • Q4 adjusted gross margin guidance of 60%-61% and adjusted EPS of $1.97-$2.03
  • Q4 adjusted operating margin expected to be approximately 37%; tax rate expected to remain at 3%
Investor Lens
The thesis is stronger after this call. Record backlog, a 1.6x book-to-bill, and Q4 guidance implying roughly $1.68 billion annualized revenue support management's base case of ~27-28% company growth and ~50% data center growth in FY2027. Gross margin leverage is also compounding, while the CW laser optionality remains a call option. Key risks are qualification timelines for new laser products and potential disruption from China-related trade rules.

📈 STRONG Strong beat and raise quarter; record 1.6 book-to-bill, Q4 revenue guided to $415-425M
Revenue
Fiscal Q3 revenue was $342.2 million, up 18.4% sequentially and 35.8% year-over-year. Data center was $137.6M, Industrial & Defense was $133.4M, and telecom was $71.3M, with all three segments growing sequentially.
Profitability
Adjusted net income was $109.8 million, up 30.2% sequentially and 61% versus the prior-year quarter. Adjusted EPS was $1.40 per diluted share, compared with $1.09 in Q2 FY2026 and $0.90 in Q3 FY2025.
Margins
Adjusted gross margin came in at 59.7%, up 120 basis points sequentially, supported by higher fab utilization and efficiency improvements. Adjusted operating margin rose to a record 31.5%, up from 27.8% in the prior quarter and 25.2% in the year-ago quarter.
Balance Sheet
Cash and short-term investments were $663 million, and net cash position was approximately $322.5 million against $340.5 million of convertible notes. Q3 operating cash flow was about $80 million, with Q4 expected above $100 million; CapEx for FY2026 is estimated at $60-$65 million.
Key Risks
Management flagged uncertainty around CW laser qualification and production timing, with a potential start only in late calendar 2027. Analysts also raised the potential impact of proposed China transceiver/module restrictions, which could shift customer mix. Other risks include rising input costs and longer lead times as fab utilization increases.
Outlook
Q4 FY2026 revenue is guided to $415-425 million with adjusted gross margin of 60%-61% and adjusted EPS of $1.97-$2.03. Management expects approximately 35% sequential growth in data center, about 20% in Industrial & Defense, and low single-digit growth in telecom.

Projections are built from each company's audited annual financials (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) over the last 5 fiscal years. Forward assumptions — revenue growth %, EBITDA margin, D&A (USD millions), interest expense, tax rate, and capex — are AI-generated using historical context and refreshed twice a year: after the December results season and after the September/Q4 results season.
