What Is the Finmagine MCP Server?

The Finmagine MCP server exposes the entire Finmagine data engine as 65 callable tools inside Claude. Instead of copying numbers from a web page into a prompt, Claude calls each tool directly — live fundamentals, technical indicators, management tone, concall analysis, ECS scores — and synthesises the findings in real time.

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets AI assistants call external APIs mid-conversation. The Finmagine implementation adds 65 tools — 41 for Indian markets (NSE/BSE) covering market breadth, stock screening, company fundamentals, earnings quality, insider data, and AI-generated research; and 24 for US markets (NYSE/NASDAQ) covering company profiles, screening, financials, conviction ranking, insider trades, and AI research. The server works with claude.ai (Connector), Claude Desktop (npx + mcp-remote), and Cursor / VS Code (Authorization header).

How the MCP Server Works

One URL. One API key. Claude calls tools mid-conversation and shows you the data inline — no copy-paste, no tab-switching.

Step 1 — Get an API Key Register at finmagine.com/developer/ and choose a tier. Free tier is instant — no credit card.

Step 2 — Add the Server URL In claude.ai: Settings → Connectors → Add → paste the URL with ?apiKey=fmk_…. Done.

Step 3 — Start a Conversation Type your question. Claude calls the relevant tools automatically and cites data inline.

Step 4 — Run Workflows Paste a multi-step prompt (morning brief / deep dive) and Claude calls 10–20 tools in sequence, building a full research note.
