The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets AI assistants like Claude call real tools — databases, APIs, live data feeds — during a conversation. The Finmagine MCP server covers Indian and US stock market intelligence — 41 NSE/BSE tools and 24 NYSE/NASDAQ tools in a single connector. Once connected, you can ask Claude questions like "which NSE sectors are in Stage 2 right now?", "show me HDFC Bank's management tone across the last 4 concalls", or "screen US tech stocks above SMA-200 with ECS score above 60" and Claude will call the right tools automatically.
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard from Anthropic that lets AI assistants call external tools mid-conversation. When you connect the Finmagine MCP server to Claude, every time you ask a market question, Claude silently calls the right Finmagine tool, gets live data back, and incorporates it into its answer — all without you writing a single line of code.
The Finmagine MCP server covers 5,000+ NSE/BSE companies and 6,400+ NYSE/NASDAQ stocks. It exposes 65 tools — 41 for Indian markets spanning fundamentals, financials, momentum, sector rotation, event feeds (insider trades, order wins, bulk deals), and AI-generated concall analysis; and 24 for US markets spanning company profiles, financials, ratios, screening, conviction ranking, insider trades, SEC filings, and AI research reports.
Tools are grouped into three tiers. All 65 are visible in the MCP manifest — your API key tier determines which ones you can actually call. US tools follow the same tier structure as Indian tools.

The 24 us_* tools are MCP-only — they have no equivalent REST endpoints. Free tier covers 25 S&P 500 mega-caps; Pro and Max unlock the full 6,400+ symbol universe.

Edit your Claude Desktop config file and restart. Node.js must be installed (for npx).

mcp-remote is downloaded automatically on first run — no manual install needed. The Finmagine tools will appear in Claude Desktop's tools panel after restart.

Every API response includes rate limit headers so you can track usage programmatically. On the Free tier: 50 calls per day, 10 per hour. A typical MCP workflow calling 8–10 tools uses 8–10 calls — so the free tier supports 5–6 full workflows per day.
