What is the Forensic Report tab?
A tab that generates an AI-written disclosure review of a company's most recent Annual Report, grounded in real indexed chunks of that report (not the model's general knowledge), organised into 6 categories with evidence-linked findings and an overall Disclosure Risk badge.
Click to reveal ↓
How is this different from the Analysis → Forensics sub-tab?
They're two separate features. Analysis → Forensics is a free, rule-based A/B/C/D grade from 6 fixed formula-driven signals (CFO/PAT ratio, non-core earnings %, debtor days, debt trajectory, CWIP%, profit trend) — no AI involved. This Forensic Report tab is a BYO-AI-generated narrative reading of the actual Annual Report text itself, Premium + your own AI key required. Use Analysis → Forensics for a fast numeric screen; use this tab for a deeper, evidence-cited qualitative read.

Why do I need my own BYO AI key for this?
Generating the report requires a real LLM call over several Annual Report excerpts, which costs real AI provider tokens. Finmagine's standing policy is never to spend its own paid LLM budget on user-triggered generation features like this — you connect your own OpenAI/Anthropic/Gemini/DeepSeek key at /account/ai-keys.php and the cost comes out of your own provider quota.

What does the Disclosure Risk badge mean?
Low (green), Moderate (amber), or Elevated (red) — a summary read of how many and how severe the findings are across all 6 categories, plus a total signal count. It's a filings-based observation, not an allegation or a buy/sell recommendation — the report is careful to use compliance-safe language throughout.

What are the 6 categories?
Accounting Quality Signals, Balance Sheet Watchpoints, Cash Flow Integrity, Related Party Disclosures, Auditor Signals, and Governance Watchpoints. Each shows its own findings with a severity dot and how many signals it contains.
Click to reveal ↓
What does the [evidence] link on a finding do?
Every finding is grounded in a specific real excerpt from the company's indexed Annual Report. Clicking [evidence] opens the source link for that excerpt, so you can verify the finding against the actual filing rather than taking the AI's summary on faith.
Click to reveal ↓
What happens if there's no Annual Report indexed for this company?
The report refuses to generate at all rather than let the model answer from general/parametric knowledge. Grounding every finding in a real, indexed Annual Report is a hard requirement, not a best-effort — if there's nothing to ground it in, you get a clear error instead of a plausible-sounding but ungrounded report.
Click to reveal ↓
How long is a report cached, and how do I get a fresh one?
Reports are cached privately to your account for 90 days by default — Annual Reports don't change intra-year, so a fresh pass isn't needed more often than that. Click Regenerate at any time to force a new generation on demand, using your BYO key quota again.

1. What Is the Forensic Report Tab?

The Forensic Report tab generates a filings-based disclosure review of a company's most recent Annual Report using your own connected AI key. Unlike a general-purpose AI chat, every finding is grounded in real, indexed excerpts pulled directly from that Annual Report — the report will refuse to generate at all if Finmagine hasn't indexed an Annual Report for the company, rather than let the model answer from its own general knowledge.

Premium + BYO key, India only: This tab requires Premium access and your own connected AI key (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or DeepSeek) at /account/ai-keys.php — generation costs come out of your own provider quota, never Finmagine's. It's currently India-only; there's no US equivalent yet.
Not the same as Analysis → Forensics: The stock page's Analysis tab already has a "Forensics" sub-tab — a free, formula-driven A/B/C/D grade from 6 fixed ratio-based signals, no AI involved. This Forensic Report tab is a separate, deeper feature: a full AI-written narrative reading of the actual Annual Report text. See Section 5 for a direct comparison.

2. Generating a Report

  1. Open the 🔍 Forensic Report tab (under the More ▾ dropdown).
  2. If you have more than one BYO key connected, pick a provider from the dropdown first.
  3. Click Generate Forensic Report with your BYO key.
  4. Wait 20–80 seconds (longer for reasoning-capable models) — the report grounds every finding across 7 forensic-relevant queries against the indexed Annual Report before returning.
No Annual Report indexed = no report. If Finmagine hasn't indexed an Annual Report for this company yet, generation fails with a clear error rather than producing an ungrounded report. Check the Documents tab to see if an Annual Report is on file, and submit one via the coverage strip there if it's missing.

3. Reading the Report

Disclosure Risk Moderate 3 total signals Generated via anthropic · 2026-08-24
Related Party Disclosures2 signals
Loans to a related entity increased year-over-year without a corresponding change in disclosed terms. [evidence]
Related party transaction disclosures are complete and itemised per Schedule V requirements.
Most Critical Finding
The increase in related-party loan balances warrants a closer look at the disclosed repayment terms in the next filing cycle.

Question for Next ConcallA suggested, specific question to raise with management on the next earnings call, based on what the report found.
RegenerateRuns a new generation pass on demand, spending your BYO key quota again.
Compliance-safe by design: The report deliberately never uses recommendation language like "sell," "avoid," or "red flag stock" — findings are phrased as filings-based observations (e.g. "Disclosure Risk: Elevated," not "this is fraud"). Read every finding as a prompt for your own further research, not as a conclusion.

4. A Research Workflow

  1. Step 1 Check Analysis → Forensics first. It's free and instant — if the A/B/C/D grade is already clean, you may not need the deeper AI pass at all.
  2. Step 2 Generate the Forensic Report for anything graded C/D, or before a large position. The narrative, evidence-linked read surfaces qualitative context the numeric grade alone can't — auditor language, related-party terms, governance commentary buried in prose.
  3. Step 3 Follow every [evidence] link on anything Moderate or Elevated. Read the actual Annual Report passage yourself before treating a finding as material — the AI summary is a pointer to the primary source, not a replacement for reading it.
  4. Step 4 Save the Concall Question. If you attend the next earnings call or read the transcript afterward, check whether management addressed it — a dodge on a question the report itself flagged is a meaningful tell.
