1. What Is the Forensic Report Tab?
The Forensic Report tab generates a filings-based disclosure review of a company's most recent Annual Report using your own connected AI key. Unlike a general-purpose AI chat, every finding is grounded in real, indexed excerpts pulled directly from that Annual Report — the report will refuse to generate at all if Finmagine hasn't indexed an Annual Report for the company, rather than let the model answer from its own general knowledge.
Premium + BYO key, India only: This tab requires Premium access and your own connected AI key (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or DeepSeek) at
/account/ai-keys.php — generation costs come out of your own provider quota, never Finmagine's. It's currently India-only; there's no US equivalent yet.
Not the same as Analysis → Forensics: The stock page's Analysis tab already has a "Forensics" sub-tab — a free, formula-driven A/B/C/D grade from 6 fixed ratio-based signals, no AI involved. This Forensic Report tab is a separate, deeper feature: a full AI-written narrative reading of the actual Annual Report text. See Section 5 for a direct comparison.
2. Generating a Report
- Open the 🔍 Forensic Report tab (under the More ▾ dropdown).
- If you have more than one BYO key connected, pick a provider from the dropdown first.
- Click Generate Forensic Report with your BYO key.
- Wait 20–80 seconds (longer for reasoning-capable models) — the report grounds every finding across 7 forensic-relevant queries against the indexed Annual Report before returning.
No Annual Report indexed = no report. If Finmagine hasn't indexed an Annual Report for this company yet, generation fails with a clear error rather than producing an ungrounded report. Check the
Documents tab to see if an Annual Report is on file, and submit one via the coverage strip there if it's missing.

Related Party Disclosures2 signals
Loans to a related entity increased year-over-year without a corresponding change in disclosed terms.
[evidence]
Related party transaction disclosures are complete and itemised per Schedule V requirements.
Most Critical Finding
The increase in related-party loan balances warrants a closer look at the disclosed repayment terms in the next filing cycle.
Illustrative — real reports are grounded in this specific company's actual indexed Annual Report text
| Element | What it shows |
| Disclosure Risk badge | Low / Moderate / Elevated, colour-coded, plus a total signal count across all categories. |
| 6 category cards | Accounting Quality Signals · Balance Sheet Watchpoints · Cash Flow Integrity · Related Party Disclosures · Auditor Signals · Governance Watchpoints — each with its own signal count. |
| Severity dot per finding | Green = observation, amber = signal, red = elevated signal. |
| [evidence] link | Opens the source excerpt from the actual indexed Annual Report backing that specific finding. |
| Most Critical Finding | A one-line summary card of the single most important thing to know from the whole report. |
| Question for Next Concall | A suggested, specific question to raise with management on the next earnings call, based on what the report found. |
| Regenerate | Runs a new generation pass on demand, spending your BYO key quota again. |
Compliance-safe by design: The report deliberately never uses recommendation language like "sell," "avoid," or "red flag stock" — findings are phrased as filings-based observations (e.g. "Disclosure Risk: Elevated," not "this is fraud"). Read every finding as a prompt for your own further research, not as a conclusion.
5. Forensic Report vs Analysis → Forensics — Side by Side
| Analysis → Forensics | Forensic Report (this tab) |
| Method | 6 fixed formula-driven ratio signals | AI-generated narrative, grounded in Annual Report text |
| Cost | Free | Your own BYO AI key quota |
| Speed | Instant | 20–80 seconds per generation |
| Output | Overall A/B/C/D grade | Disclosure Risk (Low/Moderate/Elevated) + evidence-linked findings |
| Source | Computed from financial statement data already in Finmagine's DB | Real excerpts from the company's indexed Annual Report |
| Best for | Fast numeric screening across many stocks | Deep-dive qualitative review before a real position or a large add |
Use both, not either/or: Analysis → Forensics is your fast first filter; this Forensic Report tab is the deeper second read for anything that clears that filter and is worth real capital.
