Master 13 announcement types, 3 independent filters, and 11 one-click Theme & Sector chips — scan NSE filings with precision

What You Will Master

The Finmagine Market News page is a filterable feed of official NSE corporate announcements. Every earnings result, dividend declaration, AGM notice, buyback offer, order win, demerger, and more appears here — drawn directly from NSE filings. Three independent filters let you cut the feed to exactly what you care about.

What This Guide Covers:

  1. The Three Filters — Type, Market Cap, and Period (all combine simultaneously)
  2. Theme & Sector Chips — 11 one-click curated searches (5 cross-cutting themes + 6 sector bundles) and the Filing Signal Glossary that explains each one
  3. All 13 Announcement Types — Earnings, Dividend, AGM, Buyback, Board Meeting, Bonus, Rights Issue, Order Win, Acquisition, Capex, Tax/Reg, Demerger, Other
  4. Reading a News Card — symbol, subject, date, type badge, cap badge
  5. Daily 5-Step Workflow — morning earnings scan, dividend watch, order win research, risk check
  6. Quick Reference Filter Combinations — 10 ready-to-use filter presets
  7. Pro Tips — primary source, refresh timing, Order Win signals

Who This Is For:

  • Active traders — morning earnings + Today filter to trade on results before open
  • Fundamental investors — Order Win + 30 Days + Mid/Small Cap to find emerging compounders
  • Portfolio holders — Tax/Reg filter to monitor regulatory risk across your positions
How many announcement types does the News page support?
13 types — Earnings, Dividend, AGM, Buyback, Board Meeting, Bonus, Rights Issue, Order Win, Acquisition, Capex, Tax/Reg, Demerger, and Other. Each has its own colour badge.
What are the three filters on the News page?
Type (category), Market Cap (Large/Mid/Small/All), and Period (Today/3 Days/7 Days/30 Days). All three combine simultaneously — the announcement count updates live as you change filters.
Why click through to the original NSE filing?
The card subject is just the filing title. Actual numbers, commentary, and forward guidance are in the full document. Always read the primary source before trading on an announcement.
What filter combination catches today's earnings results?
Type = Earnings, Cap = All, Period = Today. See which results came in overnight or pre-open and compare to your expectations before market opens.
What does an Order Win announcement tell you as an investor?
Revenue visibility signal — compare order size to annual revenue. In capital goods, defence, and infrastructure sectors, Order Wins are 6–18 months leading indicators of revenue growth. Best checked over 30 days.
What's the difference between a Board Meeting and an Earnings announcement?
Board Meeting = the meeting outcome notice (approvals, appointments). Earnings = actual detailed results (revenue, EPS, margins). Dividend amounts and EPS often appear in separate follow-up filings — check both types.
How do you use the Demerger type filter?
Set Demerger + All caps + 30 Days. Research both the parent and the spun-off entity separately — demergers often unlock hidden value. You may need to decide whether to hold, sell rights, or buy more of either entity.
When should you use the Tax/Reg filter?
Weekly check, especially for large caps. Tax demands, SEBI actions, and regulatory orders appear here first. Assess quantum, likelihood of recovery, and management response from the full NSE filing before reacting.
How many Theme and Sector chips are there, and what do they do?
11 total — 5 cross-cutting Themes (Growth Signals, Risk & Red Flags, Corporate Actions & Capital, Management & Ownership, Smart Money) and 6 Sector bundles (Pharma-USFDA, Banking, NBFC, Auto, IT, Infrastructure). Clicking one searches across a whole curated list of keywords at once instead of one literal phrase — e.g. clicking 🐋 Smart Money matches "bulk deal", "block deal", "stake acquisition", "acquisition", "demerger", "merger", and more, all in one click.
What is the Filing Signal Glossary and where do I find it?
A free, no-login-required education page at /education/filing_signal_glossary.php that lists the exact keywords behind every Theme and Sector chip, with a description of what each theme means. Linked directly under the chips on the News page ("📖 What do these keyword themes mean?"). Both the chips and the glossary read from the same config file, so they always stay in sync.
Do the Theme/Sector chips search a new data source, like full filing text or PDFs?
No — they search the same subject and company-name fields the regular free-text search already covers, just OR-matched against multiple keywords instead of one typed phrase. There's no new PDF parsing or filing-text extraction behind the chips; think of them as expert-curated multi-keyword searches, not a new data feed.

What Is the Market News Page?

The Finmagine Market News page is a filterable feed of NSE corporate announcements. Every filing that a listed company submits to the NSE — earnings results, dividend declarations, AGM notices, buyback offers, board meeting outcomes, bonus issues, rights issues, and more — appears here shortly after it is published.

Unlike generic news aggregators that mix rumours and editorial opinion, this feed draws directly from official NSE filings. Every card links back to the original exchange document so you can read the primary source, not an interpretation of it.

Primary Source First: Always click through to the original NSE filing before acting on an announcement. The card subject is the filing title — the actual numbers and management commentary are in the document.

The Three Filters

Three independent filter rows let you cut the feed down to exactly the announcements you care about. All three combine simultaneously — the count above the feed updates live as you change filters.

Type

The most powerful filter. Picks one category of corporate event. 13 types — see full breakdown below.

Market Cap

Large Cap, Mid Cap, Small Cap, or All. Useful when you only follow companies of a certain size.

Period

Today, 3 Days, 7 Days, or 30 Days. Tighten when markets move fast; open it up for research.

Example combination: Type = Earnings + Cap = Large + Period = 7 Days → shows only Large Cap earnings results from the past week. Combine freely for any research goal.

Theme & Sector Chips — One Click, Multiple Keywords

Above the Type/Cap/Period filters, two rows of chips give you a faster way to search than typing: each chip runs the free-text search against an entire curated list of related keywords at once, matching any announcement whose subject or company name contains at least one of them. A chip is effectively a saved, expert-picked search — you don't need to know the exact filing terminology yourself.

5 Themes (cross-cutting, any sector)

ChipWhat it catches
📈 Growth SignalsOrder wins, capacity expansion, new plants, capex, new clients, strategic partnerships, export orders, market share, product launches, commercial production.
⚠️ Risk & Red FlagsAuditor resignations, qualified opinions, payment defaults, show-cause notices, penalties, investigations, credit-rating downgrades, independent director resignations, forensic audits, winding up.
💰 Corporate Actions & CapitalBuybacks, rights issues, QIPs, preferential allotments, bonus issues, stock splits, debt reduction, fund raises, ESOPs, open offers.
👤 Management & OwnershipResignations, appointments, promoter pledges, promoter stake changes, KMP changes, CEO/CFO changes, directorship changes.
🐋 Smart MoneyBulk deals, block deals, stake acquisitions, institutional investor moves, acquisitions, demergers, mergers, amalgamations.

6 Sector Bundles

ChipWhat it catches
💊 Pharma-USFDAUSFDA, ANDA, warning letters, Form 483, EIR, drug approvals, clinical trials, import alerts.
🏦 BankingNPA, gross/net NPA, CASA, credit growth, provisioning, RBI actions, capital adequacy.
🏛️ NBFCAUM, disbursements, asset quality, credit rating, securitisation.
🚗 AutoProduction, sales volume, dispatch, export volume, new model launches, plant shutdowns.
💻 ITDeal wins, TCV, attrition, headcount, large deals, contract renewals.
🏗️ InfrastructureOrder book, EPC, project awards, toll, road projects, L1 bidder status.
Themes vs Sectors — when to use which: Use a Theme chip when you care about a type of event regardless of which industry it happens in (e.g. "show me every Risk & Red Flags filing across the whole market this week"). Use a Sector chip when you already know which industry you're researching and want the events specific to it (e.g. "show me everything Banking-relevant" rather than generic corporate actions).

Click the 📖 Filing Signal Glossary link right under the chips (also public at /education/filing_signal_glossary.php, no login required) to see the exact keyword list behind every chip in one place — the glossary and the chips are generated from the same underlying list, so they can never drift out of sync with each other.

Chips combine with your other filters too: Clicking a Theme or Sector chip sets the search box; Type/Market Cap/Period filters still apply on top of it, so you can do "Smart Money 🐋 + Large Cap + 30 Days" to see only large-cap block deals and M&A over the past month.

All 13 Announcement Types

Every announcement is classified into one of these 13 types. Each has its own colour badge so you can scan the feed at a glance.

Reading a News Card

Each announcement appears as a compact card with five elements:

ElementWhat it shows
Symbol (left, green)NSE ticker symbol. Click to go to the full Finmagine stock analysis page.
Company NameFull registered company name.
Announcement SubjectThe actual text of the announcement as filed with the NSE. Read carefully — exact wording matters.
DateThe date the announcement was filed with the exchange.
Type BadgeCategory of the announcement — colour matches the type filter chip.
Cap BadgeMarket cap tier of the company — Large, Mid, or Small.

Daily Workflow — 5-Step Routine

1

Morning scan — Earnings + Today

Set Type = Earnings, Period = Today. See which results came in overnight or pre-open. Compare to your expectations before the market opens.

2

Dividend watch — Dividend + 7 Days

Set Type = Dividend, Period = 7 Days. Track which companies declared dividends this week. Check if any of your holdings have upcoming ex-dates.

3

Event-driven scan — Order Win / Acquisition + 30 Days

Browse Order Win and Acquisition over 30 days across Mid and Small Cap. This is where multi-baggers signal their next growth phase.

4

Risk check — Tax/Reg + Large Cap

Set Type = Tax/Reg, Cap = Large, Period = 30 Days. Large cap regulatory issues sometimes get missed in the noise. A quick scan keeps you ahead.

5

Corporate structure watch — Demerger / Rights Issue

Filter for Demerger and Rights Issue announcements. These require action from you as a shareholder and often create valuation opportunities before the market prices them in.

Pro Tips

Always read the original filing

The card subject line is extracted from the filing title — it doesn't tell the whole story. For earnings and board meeting outcomes, always click through to read the full document: numbers, commentary, and future guidance are in the filing, not the title.

Order Wins are leading indicators

In capital goods, defence, and infrastructure sectors, Order Win announcements are the best leading indicator of revenue growth — often 6 to 18 months ahead. Build a 30-day view of Order Wins in Small and Mid Cap to spot compounders early.

Board Meeting ≠ full disclosure: The Board Meeting type captures the meeting outcome notice. The actual detailed disclosures (dividend amounts, EPS) often appear in subsequent separate filings — check both Board Meeting and the relevant specific type (e.g. Earnings or Dividend) within a day of each other.
Deep-dive shortcut: When you see an interesting announcement, click the stock symbol to open the full Finmagine analysis page — financials, ratios, scorecard, peers, and AI Advisor are all there in one place.
