What Went Right
  • Revenue of $5.46B was above the guided range, up 23% YoY and 13% sequentially.
  • Data center revenue doubled YoY and grew roughly 20% sequentially.
  • Operating profit rose 48% YoY to $2.31B; trailing 12-month free cash flow grew to $6.5B from $1.8B a year ago.
What to Watch
  • Personal electronics was flat YoY and constrained by shortages, so Q3 may not follow the usual seasonal pattern.
  • Pricing was stable in H1; management has started price increases, but Q3 benefit is 'almost insignificant' and discussions are customer-by-customer.
  • Lead times are ticking up a couple of weeks from very competitive below-13-week levels, requiring continued factory loading and capacity ramp.
Management Guidance
  • Q3 revenue guidance: $5.65B to $6.15B.
  • Q3 EPS guidance: $2.23 to $2.57; effective tax rate approximately 13%.
  • Q3 OpEx, net other income/expense and acquisition charges expected roughly flat sequentially; gross margin slightly higher than Q2.
  • 2026 capital expenditures still expected to be $2B to $3B, with ability to be at the higher end of that range.
Investor Lens
The bull case is stronger after this call: growth broadened from industrial/data center into automotive, and Q3 guidance came in above seasonal despite earlier concerns about deceleration. Management is starting to execute price increases while having clean-room capacity and inventory to support upside. The main watch items are a soft personal-electronics market and a gradual, customer-by-customer pricing ramp; however, demand breadth and backlog build make near-term risk to the thesis low.

📈 STRONG Revenue +23% to $5.46B is above guidance with broad strength.
Revenue
Q2 revenue was $5.46B, up 23% YoY and 13% sequentially, above the guided range. Analog grew 26% YoY and embedded processing grew 16%; industrial rose approximately 30% YoY, data center doubled YoY, and automotive grew mid-teens YoY.
Profitability
Net income was $1.98B and diluted EPS was $2.14, up 53% YoY; EPS included a $0.05 discrete tax benefit. Operating profit rose 48% YoY to $2.31B.
Margins
Gross margin was 61% of revenue, up 340 bps sequentially. Operating margin was 42% of revenue, up about 7pp YoY.
Balance Sheet
Cash and short-term investments were $7B, with total debt of $14B. Q2 CapEx was $514M; trailing 12-month free cash flow was $6.5B, including $1.6B of CHIPS Act incentives. Inventory was $4.6B, down $90M sequentially, with days at 196.
Key Risks
Personal electronics was flat YoY due to shortages and may deviate from normal Q3 seasonality. Pricing increases are being phased customer-by-customer, so Q3 benefit is small. Lead times have moved up a couple of weeks from very competitive levels as demand builds.
Outlook
Q3 revenue is guided at $5.65B to $6.15B and EPS at $2.23 to $2.57, with an effective tax rate of approximately 13%. Management expects above-seasonal growth and continued strength across all major markets.

Projections are built from each company's audited annual financials (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) over the last 5 fiscal years. Forward assumptions — revenue growth %, EBITDA margin, D&A (USD millions), interest expense, tax rate, and capex — are AI-generated using historical context and refreshed twice a year: after the December results season and after the September/Q4 results season.
