📊 MIXED TransUnion Q1 2026: 11% organic growth, financial services up 24%
Revenue & Profitability
Q1 2026 revenue exceeded high-end guidance by $41 million. Adjusted EBITDA grew 10% with a margin of 35.2%. Adjusted diluted EPS was $1.18, up 12% year-over-year. For full year 2026, revenue guidance is $5.1-$5.135 billion, adjusted EBITDA $1.796-$1.816 billion, and adjusted diluted EPS $4.68-$4.75 (9-11% growth).
Outlook
Management sees a relatively stable environment with cautious optimism from customers, but added macro uncertainty from the Iran conflict affecting inflation and interest rates. They maintain full-year organic constant currency revenue growth guidance of 8-9% (5-6% excluding FICO mortgage royalties). They expect gradual recovery in India and other emerging markets. Through mid-April, no change in customer behavior has been observed.
Growth Drivers
Key growth levers include U.S. financial services (24% growth, or 14% ex-FICO), mortgage (50% growth, 24% ex-FICO), auto (11% growth outpacing industry), and emerging verticals (6% growth led by insurance double-digit). International highlights: U.K. (7%), Canada (9%), Africa (10%). Products driving growth: Trusted Call Solutions ($27M in 2021 to projected $200M in 2026), TruIQ, alternative data, and fraud models.
Balance Sheet & CapEx
Capital expenditures are guided at approximately 6% of revenue. Recent acquisitions include TransUnion de México (~$660M) and RealNetworks' mobile division (for trusted messaging). AI investments are accelerating innovation and productivity, notably through the OneTru platform and tools like the TruIQ Analytics Orchestrator.
Margins
Q1 adjusted EBITDA margin was 35.2%, down 100 bps year-over-year (120 bps headwind from FICO royalties). Full-year 2026 adjusted EBITDA margin is guided at 35.2%-35.4%, down 60-80 bps, but underlying margins are expected to expand 50-70 bps (offset by FICO and acquisition drags). Medium-term target: 50 bps underlying margin expansion annually.
Key Risks
Management flagged macro risks from the Iran conflict (inflation, interest rate volatility) and potential second-order impacts on consumer and lender behavior. Additional risks include regulatory changes to tri-merge requirements, geopolitical exposures in India and Philippines, and pricing scrutiny in the credit bureau industry (highlighted by FHFA comments).

Financial Model
Projections are built from each company's audited annual financials (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) over the last 5 fiscal years. Forward assumptions — revenue growth %, EBITDA margin, D&A (USD millions), interest expense, tax rate, and capex — are AI-generated using historical context and refreshed twice a year: after the December results season and after the September/Q4 results season.

DCF Valuation
Fair Value = Σ(FCFt / (1+WACC)t) + Terminal Value. Terminal Value uses the Gordon Growth Model: FCF5 × (1+g) / (WACC−g). Default WACC: 10% (US risk-free ~4.5%, equity risk premium ~5.5%). Default terminal growth: 3% (long-run US nominal GDP proxy).

CAGR Tracker
Expected 5-year CAGR = (DCF Fair Value / Current Price)1/5 − 1. Assumes fair value is reached in exactly 5 years — a mechanical estimate only.
