📊 MIXED Teleflex Q1 2026 revenue $548.3M, pro forma constant currency growth 5.1%
Revenue & Profitability
First quarter 2026 GAAP revenue was $548.3 million, up 32.3% year-over-year. Pro forma adjusted constant currency revenue growth was 5.1%. Adjusted earnings per share was $1.39, a decrease of 3.5% year-over-year. Adjusted gross margin was 61.4%, down 470 basis points, and adjusted operating margin was 18.1%, down 510 basis points. Adjusted net interest expense totaled $24 million, and cash equivalents were $329.6 million at quarter end.
Outlook
Management reiterated 2026 full-year guidance for pro forma adjusted constant currency revenue growth of 4.5% to 5.5% and adjusted EPS of $6.25 to $6.55. They expect accelerated growth in the second half of 2026, particularly in the interventional segment, following the integration of sales forces. The company anticipates 2027 will be a more reflective year of the underlying business, with significant improvements in margins and EPS driven by the completion of strategic divestitures, share repurchases, and debt reduction.
Growth Drivers
Key growth drivers include strong performance in the vascular segment (hemostatic products and central venous access portfolios), interventional segment (intraosseous, right heart catheters, complex catheters), and surgical segment (ligation clips and bariatric stapler). The company is investing heavily in R&D (~8% of sales) and expanding the Freesolve scaffold into additional geographies. The combination of the legacy Teleflex interventional and Vascular Intervention sales forces is expected to drive cross-selling in the cath lab.
Balance Sheet & CapEx
Not discussed in this earnings call.
Margins
Adjusted gross margin in Q1 2026 was 61.4%, down 470 basis points from the prior year, primarily due to tariffs, quality remediation charges, and the addition of the lower-margin Vascular Intervention business. Adjusted operating margin was 18.1%, down 510 basis points. The company expects full-year 2026 adjusted operating margin to be approximately 19%, including about $90 million in stranded costs. Management estimates an underlying steady-state adjusted operating margin of approximately 23% once transition service agreements are in place.
Key Risks
Risks highlighted include disruption from sales force integration and restructuring in the interventional segment, a third-party supplier recall affecting certain vascular interventional kits, and the impact of tariffs (estimated at $33 million for full year 2026). The company also noted lumpiness in surgical instrument orders and the receipt of a second request from the FTC for the acute care and interventional urology divestitures. Foreign exchange is expected to impact revenue by approximately $14 million in 2026.
