Adjusted Operating Income

+90 bps YoY
Adjusted EPS

+22% YoY
What Went Right
  • Record Q3 orders of $5.7B, +27% YoY, with double-digit growth in every business and a 1.1 book-to-bill.
  • Industrial Solutions organic growth of 21%, led by DDN +34% and Energy +33% on AI and power infrastructure demand.
  • Adjusted EPS hit a record $2.94 (+22%) with adjusted operating margin up 90bps to 21.9% and YTD free cash flow of ~$2.2B.
What to Watch
  • DDN FY26 revenue remains tracking in line with prior guidance despite 70%+ order growth — order strength is building backlog for FY27 more than current-year upside.
  • Outside AI/cloud, traditional DDN demand is flat-to-down as customers shift capex toward AI programs.
  • Global vehicle production is still slightly down, with China domestic demand soft and North America weak; growth is relying on exports and content outperformance.
Management Guidance
  • Q4 FY26 revenue of approximately $5.25B, +11% YoY.
  • Q4 FY26 adjusted EPS of approximately $3.05, +18% YoY.
  • FY26 outlook: sales growth of ~15% and adjusted EPS growth of ~23%; restructuring charges ~$100M; Q4 adjusted tax rate 22-23%.
  • Astrodyne TDI acquisition for ~$1.4B ($250M+ annual sales) expected to close by end of calendar 2026.
Investor Lens
The thesis is stronger after this call. Record orders and broad-based double-digit order growth — especially in DDN, Energy, and Transportation — give much better visibility into FY27, while margin expansion and ~100% FCF conversion support the compounding-earnings story. The main nuance is that near-term DDN revenue is still tracking in line with guidance, with the order surge landing more in FY27, and optical/FAU upside is a 2028+ event. Overall, the AI and power infrastructure positioning is clearly driving above-model outperformance.

📈 STRONG TE beats with record orders, 22% EPS growth; Q4 guide strong.
Revenue
Q3 revenue rose 14% reported/12% organic to $5.2B, split evenly between Industrial (+22% reported/+21% organic) and Transportation (+7% reported/+5% organic). Record orders reached $5.7B, up 27% YoY.
Profitability
Adjusted EPS grew 22% to a record $2.94, while GAAP EPS was $2.55. Net income dollar amount was not discussed on the call; adjusted operating income exceeded $1.1B.
Margins
Adjusted operating margin expanded 90bps to 21.9%, with Industrial segment margin at nearly 23% (+70bps) and Transportation at 21%. Management cited strong operational execution and volume-driven flow-through.
Balance Sheet
Q3 cash from operations was $1.2B and free cash flow was $883M; YTD free cash flow was ~$2.2B with ~$2.0B returned to shareholders. The ~$1.4B Astrodyne TDI acquisition will be funded with cash and is expected to close by end of calendar 2026.
Key Risks
Global vehicle production remains slightly down, with China domestic softness offset by exports and North America still weak. Management also flagged that non-AI/cloud DDN demand is flat-to-down, optical/FAU revenue is unlikely to be meaningful until 2028+, and energy growth carries project-based variability.
Outlook
Q4 FY26 sales are guided to approximately $5.25B, +11% YoY, with adjusted EPS of approximately $3.05, +18% YoY. Full-year FY26 expectations remain sales growth of ~15% and adjusted EPS growth of ~23%.

Financial Model
Projections are built from each company's audited annual financials (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) over the last 5 fiscal years. Forward assumptions — revenue growth %, EBITDA margin, D&A (USD millions), interest expense, tax rate, and capex — are AI-generated using historical context and refreshed twice a year: after the December results season and after the September/Q4 results season.

DCF Valuation
Fair Value = Σ(FCFt / (1+WACC)t) + Terminal Value. Terminal Value uses the Gordon Growth Model: FCF5 × (1+g) / (WACC−g). Default WACC: 10% (US risk-free ~4.5%, equity risk premium ~5.5%). Default terminal growth: 3% (long-run US nominal GDP proxy).

Expected 5-year CAGR = (DCF Fair Value / Current Price)1/5 − 1. Assumes fair value is reached in exactly 5 years — a mechanical estimate only.
