What Went Right
  • Organic sales +9% with broad strength: MedSurg +9.2%, Orthopaedics +8.6%, U.S. +9%, international +8.9%.
  • Adjusted EPS $3.69 and adjusted operating margin +170bps to 27.4% despite cyber recovery.
  • Best-ever Q2 Mako installations and strong capital demand; Medical U.S. +13.1%, Endoscopy U.S. +10.2%, Trauma U.S. +12.5%.
What to Watch
  • Peripheral Vascular supply disruption caused U.S. vascular organic sales -6.7% and lost sales; backorders expected manageable by end of Q3.
  • Cyber remediation and manufacturing recovery costs will offset Q2 tariff benefit in H2; production ramp is key to delivering guide.
  • Full-year organic growth guidance of 8.3%-9.3% implies a meaningful second-half acceleration (~11% at midpoint).
Management Guidance
  • FY26 organic net sales growth narrowed to 8.3%-9.3%.
  • FY26 adjusted EPS narrowed to $14.95-$15.10.
  • FY26 adjusted effective tax rate 15%-16%; adjusted other income/expense ~$420M; modestly positive pricing; FX slightly favorable.
Investor Lens
The thesis is stronger after this print: demand remains intact with an elevated capital backlog, zero cancellations, record Mako installations and margin expansion. The main execution risk is the continued supply recovery in Peripheral Vascular and the ability to ramp capital production fast enough to hit the ~11% H2 organic growth implied by guidance. Management's decision to raise the bottom end of FY26 organic sales guidance signals confidence, while resuming buybacks adds support. Watch the PV recovery, Mako RPS launch and back-half production cadence.

Financial Model
Projections are built from each company's audited annual financials (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) over the last 5 fiscal years. Forward assumptions — revenue growth %, EBITDA margin, D&A (USD millions), interest expense, tax rate, and capex — are AI-generated using historical context and refreshed twice a year: after the December results season and after the September/Q4 results season.
