📊 MIXED Dana Q1 2026: Revenue $1.87B, EBITDA margin 9.2%, secures Ram Dakota award.
Revenue & Profitability
First quarter 2026 sales were $1.868 billion, up from $1.781 billion last year. Adjusted EBITDA was $171 million, a 9.2% margin, a 400 basis point improvement year-over-year. Adjusted free cash flow was a use of $195 million, primarily due to working capital. Full-year 2026 guidance: sales ~$7.5 billion, adjusted EBITDA ~$800 million (10.6% margin), adjusted free cash flow ~$300 million, and diluted adjusted EPS ~$2.50.
Outlook
Management sees softer end-market demand, with a $33 million volume/mix headwind in Q1. They expect North American Class 8 trucks to improve in the second half, while medium-duty and South American commercial vehicle markets remain soft. Currency tailwinds from a stronger euro are expected to continue. Tariff recoveries are seen as a modest tailwind to sales and EBITDA.
Growth Drivers
Growth is driven by new business wins like the Ram Dakota program ($250 million annual sales, launching early 2028), which leverages existing capacity. The company's backlog is now $950 million. Other growth drivers include aftermarket expansion (low market share in North America for sealing) and applied technologies (defense, powersports). The Dana 2030 plan targets 6% compounded annual revenue growth to $10 billion.
Balance Sheet & CapEx
Net capital spending is expected to be about $325 million in 2026, up $70 million from 2025, to support efficiency improvements and new business backlog. The company also plans to use proceeds from the off-highway sale to buy out certain facility leases, a one-time catch-up for core manufacturing facilities. No specific AI or infrastructure investments were mentioned.
Margins
Adjusted EBITDA margin improved to 9.2% in Q1 2026, up from 5.2% last year, a 400 bps gain. Full-year 2026 guidance implies a 10.6% margin, a 250 bps improvement. Margin expansion is driven by cost savings ($35 million in Q1, $65 million full-year target), structural cost reductions, performance actions, and favorable mix from higher-margin new business. The 2030 target is 14-15% margins.
Key Risks
Risks include softer end-market demand (volume/mix headwinds), tariff timing and recovery uncertainties, commodity price volatility (though recovery mechanisms exist), and working capital dynamics (Q1 used $224 million). Commercial vehicle softness in Brazil and medium-duty markets was noted. Potential energy price impacts on European CV were mentioned but deemed modest.

Financial Model
Projections are built from each company's audited annual financials (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) over the last 5 fiscal years. Forward assumptions — revenue growth %, EBITDA margin, D&A (USD millions), interest expense, tax rate, and capex — are AI-generated using historical context and refreshed twice a year: after the December results season and after the September/Q4 results season.

DCF Valuation
Fair Value = Σ(FCFt / (1+WACC)t) + Terminal Value. Terminal Value uses the Gordon Growth Model: FCF5 × (1+g) / (WACC−g). Default WACC: 10% (US risk-free ~4.5%, equity risk premium ~5.5%). Default terminal growth: 3% (long-run US nominal GDP proxy).

CAGR Tracker
Expected 5-year CAGR = (DCF Fair Value / Current Price)1/5 − 1. Assumes fair value is reached in exactly 5 years — a mechanical estimate only.
