What Is Generate Report?

Generate Report is a Premium-only tool on every stock page that assembles a complete, data-rich AI prompt from the Finmagine database. You copy this prompt, paste it into Claude.ai, and receive a full institutional-grade HTML stock report in minutes — no data entry, no manual research, no formatting.

The prompt includes everything Finmagine holds on the company: fundamentals, 30+ financial ratios (classified as Excellent / Good / Average / Poor), the Finmagine Score, AI-generated strengths and concerns, growth patterns, and — for banking stocks — NIM, GNPA, and cost-of-funds metrics.

Why this matters: Writing a proper stock research report by hand takes hours. Generate Report compresses that into a single copy-paste. The output is a formatted HTML file you can open in any browser, share with your family, or submit to Finmagine for publication.

The 5-Step Workflow

Open any stock page
Search for a company and click ✨ Generate Report

Review green ✓ and yellow ⚠ warnings before copying

Copy All
Click the blue Copy All button — the full prompt goes to your clipboard

Paste into Claude.ai
Open claude.ai/new, paste, press Enter

Save the HTML
Copy Claude's full output, save as SYMBOL.html, open in browser

No extra instructions needed. The prompt is self-contained. Do not add any additional text — just paste and press Enter. Claude knows the exact output format required.

Step 1 — Opening the Prompt Page

On any stock page (e.g., /stock/?symbol=INFY), click ✨ Generate Report in the action bar at the top right. This opens /stock/generate-prompt.php?symbol=INFY — a dedicated page for that company.

Step 2 — Reading the Stats Bar

The page header shows four key metrics about the assembled prompt:

Ratios	Number of financial ratios included in the prompt	25–44+
Scores	Overall Finmagine Score out of 10	6.0+ for strong companies
~Tokens	Estimated token count for the AI model	Any — Claude.ai handles up to 200K
Chars	Total character count of the prompt	Informational only

If Ratios shows (synth) next to the count, it means some ratios were synthesised from available data rather than scraped directly — the report is still valid but may have slightly lower precision on a few computed metrics.

Step 3 — Checking Data Coverage

The Data Coverage panel (right side of the instructions box) tells you what Finmagine has on record for this stock:

✓ All data fields populated — ideal state; the prompt has full coverage
✓ Core fundamentals present — base data is there, but some fields are missing
⚠ Missing: [field name] — a specific data gap that will show as N/A in the report

Filling data gaps: If you see yellow ⚠ warnings, open the company's Screener.in page while the Finmagine Chart Builder (CWS) or AI Advisor (AIA) extension is installed. The extension automatically pushes fundamentals from Screener.in into the Finmagine database. After visiting the page, regenerate the prompt — the warning should clear.

Step 4 — Generating the Report in Claude.ai

Open claude.ai/new in a new browser tab. Make sure you are in a new conversation (not an existing chat). Paste the copied prompt and press Enter.

Claude will output a complete HTML document. The report typically includes:

Executive summary with investment verdict
Detailed financial ratios analysis across all categories
Business model and competitive positioning
Strengths and concerns with supporting data
Valuation analysis (PE, PB, EV/EBITDA)
Risk assessment and investment recommendation

Step 5 — Saving and Sharing

When Claude finishes generating:

Click inside Claude's response and select all (Cmd+A / Ctrl+A)
Copy the full HTML output
Open a text editor, paste, and save as SYMBOL.html (e.g., INFY.html)
Open the saved file in any web browser — it renders as a fully formatted report

What Data Is in the Prompt?

The prompt is assembled from multiple Finmagine data sources in real time:

The prompt ends with a detailed HTML formatting instruction that tells Claude exactly how to structure, style, and present the report — so you always get consistent, publication-ready output.

Tips and Best Practices

When to use Generate Report

High-conviction positions: Before sizing up a position significantly, run a full report to stress-test your thesis against the data.
New sector research: Generate reports for 3–5 companies in a sector to quickly build a comparative picture.
Sharing research: The HTML output is a clean, shareable document — suitable for investment clubs, family discussions, or advisor meetings.

Getting the best output

Use a fresh Claude.ai conversation each time — prior context in an existing chat can interfere with the formatting instructions.
If Claude truncates the output mid-report, type "Continue" and it will resume exactly where it stopped.
For companies with many yellow ⚠ data warnings, visit the Screener.in page with CWS installed first, then regenerate the prompt.
The token count shown is an estimate. Claude.ai's free tier supports up to 200K tokens per message — all Finmagine prompts fit comfortably within this limit.

After generating

Cross-reference the AI report conclusions against the raw data visible on the Finmagine stock page — AI models can occasionally misinterpret edge cases.
The report reflects data at the moment of generation. Re-run quarterly after each earnings release to keep it current.
You can submit the HTML to Finmagine for review and publication — completed reports are made available to the full Premium subscriber base.
